Glamping summary

The Canvas Frills Lodge tent at Hof Rembs farm is one of the tents found at this Country Retreat site in central Germany. It is run as a horse-breeding farm specializing in 'Paint' and 'Quarter' horses with the 20 Paints and Quarters making up the foundation of the herd.

The Country Retreat lies in the Westerwald area, about 20 kilometres from Koblenz. Its history goes as far back as the middle ages. The architecture and location of the Hofgut is unique in the county, and across Germany, there are only a few similar estates. The estate is surrounded by woods, amid 60 acres of farmland.

The Quarter Horse is the most often bred racing horse in the world. It is not very large but very agile and ideally suited for western riding. The Paint horse is a spotted horse breed that originated from the Quarter horse. In addition to the 20 horses there are about 30 ‘guest' horses and ponies here as well. Hofgut Rembs is especially proud of the large open stables and indoor riding arena. On the Country Retreat 'Zwergzebus' are also bred - a small rugged cattle from Sri Lanka. There is a small petting area with rabbits and chickens, and several cats too.

Glamping description

The Canvas Frills Lodge has a double bed, a bunk bed, and a single bed, sleeping a maximum of six guests. The lodge comes with a starter pack made up of wood for heating and cooking, starter pack candles, and lamp oil. Kitchen linen is provided and there is ample parking space. Any stay includes a tour of this working farm.

Hof Rembs often hosts western riding competitions, which often include riding demonstrations, food fairs, music, a fun fair, and they are a fun family experience for everybody on a glamping holiday.
