Glamping summary

The Canvas Frills Lodge and hot tub at Manor Farm is one of the tents that are located on this working farm situated on the edge of the South Downs National Park. Manor Farm remains a tranquil oasis just an hour from London. Farming arable, cattle, and sheep, this is a beautiful farm amongst a classic rolling landscape of copses and sunken lanes.

In April, it is lambing time and guests have a chance to bottle feed the lambs. Guests can relax in one of the extra luxurious Frills tents: either under a twinkling starscape in your own hot tub, or instead at a tent with its own en suite bathroom, depending on your booking selection. The tents are in the old farm orchard under trees or amongst hedgerows and are ideally spaced, each one offering privacy whilst also being well placed for groups. Some face into the orchard towards the lamb paddock, while others have views over Alton and the rolling countryside beyond.

Each tent has its own campfire site for cooking hearty meals, and there are plenty of places for foraging wood. A barbecue under the stars is not to be missed, for which the meat is often provided - the marinated butterflied leg of lamb being a favourite.

Glamping description

The Canvas Frills Lodge has a wood powered hot tub and has a double bed, a bunk bed, and a single bed, sleeping a maximum of six guests. There is a private gas-powered shower, a flushing toilet, deck chairs, an outdoor cooker, a hammock, an extended canopy for the wooden floored covered veranda, and cold running water. The lodge comes with a starter pack made up of wood for heating and cooking, starter pack candles, and lamp oil. Kitchen linen is provided and there is ample parking space. Any stay includes a tour of this working farm.

Wandering beyond the farm, there are great local pubs within walking distance, including the Three Horseshoes only a mile away in East Worldham. There is wild swimming at Frensham Ponds that is only 20 minutes away, or a fun paddle at West Wittering and Hayling Island on the coast, which you can reach within an hour.
