THINGS TO DO

There are a lot of things to see and to do near the quinta. Caldas da Rainha is very close by and must see Obidos the castle city too. Museums and parks for example, but also Praia Foz do Arelho, a beach in a village close to the city. Peniche for the supertubes surf lovers and Nazare for the big waves.

And there are more cities, all with well known monuments that you should definitely visit. Alcobaa, that has a big monastery, bidos with a big and well known castle and Batalha with a big cathedral. And you don't have to limit a visit to one of them to just the sights: it can be very relaxing to just stroll around and enjoy the authentic character of an old Portuguese city.

If you don't mind driving a bit further, you can also add Coimbra and Lisbon to your list. Both cities have a lot of things to do: churches, museums and various other types of monuments, including some of the Seven Wonders of Portugal and a lot of World heritage sites!
