The Log Cabin Frills at Warren Farm is one of the tents that are located on this working farm in the heart of the Mendips area. The area is within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and the farms 1,000 acres stretch along Cheddar Gorge. The views from the tent are amazing and the area offers guests a huge variety of walking opportunities.
The farm is a cattle and sheep farm with over 80 suckler cows that calve between March and May. There are up to 1,400 ewes that lamb in May and there are hundreds of acres of conservation land for the National and Somerset Wildlife Trusts. The farm has been part of the Countryside Stewardship Scheme for nearly 20 years and any stay includes a tour of this working farm.
The farm is home to a diverse array of animals for guests to meet including piglets in the paddocks close to the tents. There is a children's den in the woods and a play fort for children that includes towers, slides, a crawl through, three swings, and two sand pits. Dogs can be brought to the farm but not during the lambing season from January 29th up until June 1st.
The farm has a selection of hampers that can be booked as extras, some of which are supplied by Farringtons. The farm larder is well stocked and has campfire marshmallows, and hot chocolate. There is a beauty room that has been especially built room that offers luxurious treatments.
Glamping description
The Log Cabin Frills has a double bed, two mezzanine beds, and a single bed, sleeping a maximum of six guests. There is a private gas powered shower, a flushing toilet, deck chairs, an outdoor cooker, an extended canopy for the wooden floored covered veranda, and cold running water. The lodge comes with a starter pack made up of wood for heating and cooking, starter pack candles, and lamp oil. Kitchen linen is provided and there is ample parking space.
Through the valleys, the farm is a 45-minute walk to Cheddar. Guests can find the Cheddar Gorge Cheese Company and explore the Cheddar Gorge caves. Glastonbury is also close by and Bath and Bristol all are close enough for day trips.
