Glamping summary
Yurts is a small family run campsite where one can find yurts that are a mix of the traditional Mongolian tents combined with a more modern wooden cabin look. The campsite is nestled in the Blackdown Hills of Devon, which is an ideal location to explore the various naturally beautiful spots the South West England landscape has to offer.
Closeby lies the small market town and civil parish of Honiton, famous for its lace and antiques, and the town of Axminster, now home to Hugh Fearnly-Whittingstall's 'River Cottage' Canteen & HQ, which not only is a great restaurant, but holds food courses too.
This spot is perfect to go glamping and to explore various exciting little experiences the nearby little towns have to offer as well as to enjoy the fresh air and beauty of the countryside in Devon.
Glamping description
The yurts at the campsite are a mix of the traditional Mongolian styled camping yurts and modern wood cabins. The yurt comes with a double bed and a double futon and a single futon, all provided with fresh and soft pillows and linen. The yurt has an internal log burning stove for heating to keep you warm during those cold nights. Also a coffee table, a wood burner and some pots, pans and cutlery have been provided for your cooking needs. Outside the yurt there is an open fire BBQ pit for the guests to use as they please.
Wether you are glamping with your family, friends or your romantic partner, the yurt makes for a great escape from the noise and stresses of city life, and it can be quite an experience to be able to enjoy one another's company without any distractions. Being away from the city lights polluting the sky at night, the stars can get quite beautiful, as the darkness sets in one could indulge in stargazing and enjoy the true beauty of the skies.
The yurt is also open for dogs to stay, but it is recommended that they be kept on a lead. The campsite also has a communal center called the 'cruck shelter' that is ideal for group activities and is open and free for all guests to use, unless there happens to be a workshop running at the time.
