De Welzijnshoeve

The Canvas Frills Lodge at De Welzijnshoeve is one of the tents that are located on this working farm in the small town of Dreumel, in the province of Gelderland. Only 50 miles from Utrecht, the farm is in a unique part of the Netherlands and is surrounded by the beautiful area of Maasland and the Waal River.

Any stay at De Welzijnshoeve includes a tour of this working farm that is run by the Cruijsen family. The farm is mainly dairy cows but there is also a lot of agriculture on the farm. The family grows carrots, sugar beets, green beans, sweet corn, and pumpkin all of which can be bought at the farm store. The farm also is home to many pigs, peacocks, and deer. Children will love playing with the rabbits and they can help to collect fresh eggs from the chickens. There are many activities for children including a trampoline. There is so much space for children in and around the farm that they are guaranteed to have fun.

The Canvas Frills Lodge has a double bed, a bunk bed, and a single bed, sleeping a maximum of five guests. There is an en-suite bathroom with shower and basin, flushing toilet, deck chairs, an outdoor cooker, an extended canopy for a covered veranda, and cold running water. The lodge comes with a starter pack made up of wood for heating and cooking, starter pack candles, and lamp oil. Kitchen linen is provided, there is a BBQ provided, and there is ample parking space.

The area around the farm is perfect for cycling and hiking trips and is a lovely part of the Netherlands. The farm is close to the Driedijkenpunt or Three Point Dyke where the Maasdijk (Maas Dyke), the Waaldijk (Waal Dyke), and the Heerewaardense afsluitdijk (Heerewaarden Afsluit Dyke) meet. This area is a well-known cycling area in the Netherlands. Fishing is also available in this area. Within 30 minutes drive from the farm, guests can also visit the cities of Den Bosch and Nijmegen.
