Glamping summary
The Canvas Frills Lodge at Moor Farm is one of the tents that are located on this working Cotswolds farm just five miles from ancient Gloucester and a short walk from the Severn estuary. The farm is very accessible but secluded. It is found at the end of a one-mile long private drive lined with beautiful trees and you will leave the hustle and bustle of daily life behind you as you drive up to the farm.
The farm has a century old traditional orchard and a herd of rare Gloucester cattle that feed off the fertile plains of the Severn River. The farm is run by three generations of the same family that have a passion for farming, food, history, and the preservation of nature. They are members of the rare breed association and owners of a small scale catering business that uses as many products from the farm and local area as possible. The farm lambs at Easter and has many hatching chicks. The farm has a flock of Hampshire down sheep that are a rare cuddly looking breed and guests can help to round them up. Any stay includes a tour of this working farm.
Glamping description
The Canvas Frills Lodge has a double bed, two mezzanine beds, and a single bed, sleeping a maximum of six guests. There is an en-suite bathroom with shower and basin, a flushing toilet, deck chairs, an outdoor cooker, an extended canopy for the wooden floored covered veranda, and cold running water. The lodge comes with a starter pack made up of wood for heating and cooking, starter pack candles, and lamp oil. Kitchen linen is provided and there is ample parking space.
The tents are located in a copse on the farm and the area makes a natural playground for children. The canal is a five minutes' walk where guests can fish and there is a new cycle trail around the farm. Deer are often spotted at dusk and there is a communal area on the farm for large groups. Well behaved dogs are allowed on the farm as well.
