Glamping summary
The Canvas Frills Lodge at Canfields Farm is one of the tents that are located on this working farm located in West Sussex on the Surrey border just an hour from London. The tents are sited on the edge of woodland and the farm is nestled between the North and South Downs making it an ideal place for a family glamping holiday.
The farm is primarily an organic beef farm but it also offers bottle-feeding of lambs from the Easter Weekend onwards. Canfields has a tradition of sale from the farm gate, and milk was sold from here back in 1948. The entire friendly herd of 30 suckler cows can be traced back to three foundation mothers, Peggy, Fox, and Delight. Unfortunately, because of the lambs, dogs cannot be accommodated at Canfields. Any stay includes a tour of this working farm.
The farm has a tent for groups of up to 10 people as well as the classic tents for up to six people. A special feature is the outdoor water-play area of waterfall shower with sandpit. The bluebell woods nearby are perfect for den building, stream damming, and deer, butterfly and woodpecker spotting. Guests can collect eggs on the farm from the Loman chickens and get to know the Goodwood lambs. In front of the tents, a rustic playground and play pitch is ideal for football and badminton outside, and more. The organic cows and the horses will keep guests company and there is a large undercover communal area for rainy days.
