The Canvas Lodge at Hoeve Draafsel is one of the tents that are located on this working farm. The farm is near Lochem, which has one of the most beautiful hiking areas of Netherlands with more than 60 routes. The area is magnificent countryside, with very old trees, flower-filled meadows, winding dirt roads, peace, and tranquillity.
Any stay at Hoeve Draafsel includes a tour of this working Dutch farm. The farm is located on the banks of the river Berkel and is mentioned back as far as 1377. The farm has 60 dairy cows that are milked with automated machines. Guests can watch this and the farmers are happy to educate guests about this and all aspects of running a farm. There are ponies on the farm and children up to 12 years of age can have riding lessons.
Glamping description
The Canvas Lodge has a double bed, a bunk bed, and a single bed, sleeping a maximum of five guests. There is a flushing toilet, deck chairs, an outdoor cooker, an extended canopy for a covered veranda, and cold running water. The lodge comes with a starter pack made up of wood for heating and cooking, starter pack candles, and lamp oil. Kitchen linen is provided and there is ample parking space.
In the summer, the private river can be used and guests can rent a canoe and go exploring along the many waterways. There is a huge sandbox on the farm with a water pump and a giant swing. In addition, there is a restored teahouse from the 19th century that is located right next to the farm.
