Glamping summary
The Canvas Frills Lodge at Mill Farm is one of the tents that are located on this working farm that is situated just an hour south of London in the South Downs National Park, one mile from Lurgashall, a quintessential English village. It is within 15 minutes of Haslemere, Midhurst, and Petworth; the latter being home to the biggest collection of Turner paintings in the UK.
The farm is part of Leconfield Estate, and has a private lake and many different pathways for guests to enjoy. There is clay shooting on the first Sunday of each month and woodland pig spotting in season. Unfortunately, dogs cannot be accommodated. There are endless glorious public footpaths through the parish, and the national park, renowned for its low-level light pollution. Flora and fauna close by includes Downland sheep, kingfishers, badgers, and a variety of coarse fish, wetland birds, ducks, and geese.
Glamping description
The Canvas Frills Lodge has a double bed, a bunk bed, and a single bed, sleeping a maximum of six guests. There is an en-suite bathroom with shower and basin, a flushing toilet, deck chairs, an outdoor cooker, an extended canopy for the covered veranda, and cold running water. The lodge comes with a starter pack made up of wood for heating and cooking, starter pack candles, and lamp oil. Kitchen linen is provided and there is ample parking space. Any stay includes a tour of this working farm.
Lurgashall has a 16th century pub located on the traditional village green and Blackdown Hill, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty can be seen from the tents. It is South England's second highest spot offering views across Surrey, Hampshire, and Sussex.
