Glamping summary
The Canvas Frills Lodge at Domaine St Christophe is one of the tents that are located on this working farm on top of a hill surrounded by forest, on the coast of Meuse. With its beautiful Friesian horses full of character, the location is a wonderful combination of new and old.
The cloister dates back to the year 707 and the Celts left their mark, leaving behind many magnificent buildings called Menhirs. The farm specialises in training and breeding the Friesians, which are joined every year by new adorable, tottering foals. There are also mini donkeys, dogs, cats and the forest animals on the farm. With a little luck, you will come across deer and make other sightings, especially early in the morning or around sunset. The farm has a private restaurant on the premises if you do not feel up to cooking.
A forest walk to la Butte de Montsec (5km) is definitely worth doing to see the beautiful 360-degree panoramic view of up to 30km away on a clear day. You can also choose a mountain bike trip or take a walk with the mini donkeys. Carriage rides are sometimes arranged. Experienced riders can ride through these beautiful woods with the horses and riding lessons on experienced Friesian horses are offered.
