Glamping summary

The Canvas Lodge tent at La Ferme de la Moricière is one of the tents found on a farm owned by the Moricière family in Lower Normandy. The family have owned the farm for more than 200 years. From around the time of the French Revolution, they came to La Moricière in search of safety.

Today, the family runs an organic dairy farm with a herd of Normandy cows and their calves as well as pigs, chicken and goats. From the 1st to the 4th of July, an added point of interest will be the Tour de France. Le Tour will start just a few kilometres from La Ferme de la Moricière.

On the farm tour, the Moricières will share their farming knowledge with guests, especially in the art of cheese making, including informed recommendations on the best local cheeses to buy. The family's own famous local cheese is the "Pont L'Evêque." They are also passionate about environmental issues in the area and as tour guides, they take small groups on foot across the extraordinary bay.

Glamping description

The Canvas Lodge has a double bed, a bunk bed, and a single bed, sleeping a maximum of 6 guests. The honesty shop, "Le Cellier," and the three individual hot showers are found in a building that has been restored using organic and eco-friendly techniques. There is always something happening on the farm to join in on, including wood fence mending, firewood chopping, and organic vegetable gardening.

    Fantastic experience, despite the rain

We had a lovely time at this charming glamping, despite the pouring rain. We're used to some rain in the UK after all, so we won't complain about that ;-)

    What a great place!

It was like living in the old days again. Playing board games and telling stories allowed me to find good moments to connect with my 3 teenagers. What a great place!

Undividedly positive about this glamping Show original

After some very very nice BB experiences in the Netherlands, this was our first Lit au Pré experience. And it was undividedly positive! Very nice location, hospitable farmer and farmer's wife, beautiful farm... Our kids (not so little ones anymore) found the haystack and the stray animals (chickens, goats and dog that came to visit twice a day) very cozy. We too, although they became a bit bolder every day, but that was also fun :-)
