Glamping summary
The Canvas Frills Lodge at Upper Shadymoor Farm is one of the tents that are located on this working farm located less than 50 miles from the Birmingham boundary and only an hour and a half from Manchester. The tents are on the Welsh border, and so offer stunning views and walks over the Shropshire hills including Stiperstones and Long Mynd.
The farm has cattle, horses, and Kerry Hill sheep and there is a nature safari as part of the farm tour where guests can spot pheasant and red deer. The farm has been part of the Higher Level Stewardship Scheme for nearly a decade and is an amazing spot for nature lovers. Guests can join in on wildlife walks to explore nearby old hay meadows, or walk amongst the bluebell woods in spring. There are sunflowers in summer and scented wild garlic as well as a host of birds.
The orchard and garden pool are overlooked by the delightfully rustic barn built with the farm's own oak, ash, and alder. It houses the showers and the well-stocked farm larder that includes seasonal venison, pigeon, pheasant, and duck, all from the farm as well as readymade meals. Unfortunately, pets cannot be accommodated, as there are too many birds around the farmyard. Any stay includes a tour of this working farm.
