Glamping summary

The Canvas Frills Lodge with hot tub, at De Groene Hoeve in the Netherlands, is one of the tents that are located on this working farm, just outside the harbour of Wijdenes. The farm owners, the Groenendijk family, focus on self-sufficiency, preferring sustainable farming. The farm features a 19th century thatched farmhouse that sits next to a beautiful lake and it has been an active dairy farm for over 150 years.

Any stay at De Groene Hoeve includes a tour of this working goat farm. The farm is sustainable and so only has 29 goats, 10 lambs, 3 horses, a cow, and some chickens. The farmers use the goats milk to make fresh goats cheese. Guests can get involved and help around the farm by looking after the goats, milking them, making goats cheese, or making ice cream. The tents overlook a beautiful stream where children can play and search for frogs and other water creatures.
