In October 2014 we (Lars and my son Fadi) moved from the still beloved Amsterdam, to a small village in the beautiful Central Portugal. We didn't want to leave the Netherlands so much, but we were lucky enough to be able to work at B&B , set up by my parents. We are glad to have taken that opportunity!

Although we do not live on the Quinta ourselves, but in the village about 4 minutes away, we are found on the Quinta on frequent basis. And if we are not there, we are always nearby. Look forward to see you at our Portugese glamping!

    Lotus Tent

The two of us stayed at the accommodation for a week. The complex itself is very beautiful, and we had good weather the entire week, making our stay pleasant. Unfortunately, our stay was marred by many mishaps caused by the host. The tent we had booked was no longer available, and without further explanation, we were accommodated in a yurt located in the same spot as the tent pictured in the advertised offer. This didn't bother us. However, the yurt has been in this location for a long time; it would be fair to guests to advertise the offer with the existing accommodations. The furnishings were practical, the bed comfortable and freshly made. The toilet and kitchen buildings look just like the pictures. Unfortunately, neither the toilet nor the kitchen stove worked when we arrived. All of the utensils listed in the offer (coffee maker, toaster, oil, salt, sugar, coffee, etc.) were missing.

This first impression was somewhat sobering. Lars, who rents out the accommodations, tried to correct everything based on our suggestions, but he was only partially successful. It's incomprehensible that the accommodations aren't prepared before the guests arrive. Naturally, it took some time for Lars to make progress. The gas stove still only worked with two small burners, the coffee maker was unusable, and there was no toaster. We're campers ourselves and very willing to compromise. And thanks to the nice weather, everything seemed half as bad.

The yurt itself was okay, but I'd be interested (or not) to know what the stay was like in bad weather. The yurt's roof was a dome with glass segments. Some of them were missing, so the dome was covered with an old blanket. Firstly, it looked ugly and makeshift, and secondly, it wouldn't hold in the rain. Lars is rarely there; he lives in the next village. His contact person is his father, who occasionally emphasizes that his son is the landlord. Things got chaotic because Lars had a double booking for one day of our stay. We then had to move all our belongings into a specially erected tent, which was very similar to the one on the website. Unfortunately, there was neither a toilet nor a kitchen nor running water available. I won't describe the alternatives Lars offered here; they were unreasonable. Luckily, we were able to move back into the yurt the very next morning. As compensation, Lars's father cooked us a delicious meal.

We were also able to use the small sauna next to the clean pool. You fire it yourself with wood, which worked well. Lars and his parents were always very friendly, the location is great, and the garden is lovely. Unfortunately, the entire area seemed untidy, makeshift, and in need of renovation in many places. The accommodations are very dated. The landlord seems a bit overwhelmed. It was good that the father was able to take care of some things. The friendly atmosphere and the good weather helped us overcome a lot. We enjoyed our stay, but it certainly wouldn't be a place for those with high expectations and bad weather.

    A lovely place

Very welcoming and warm owners, very child friendly with many animals for the children to play with. Swimming pool not very big but great for the kids to play. Other entertainment also available for children, such as soccer field, trampoline. View is really fantastic and the area is beautiful. Enough to do!
