For a long time, nomadic tribes in Central Asia have lived in round, semi permanent houses. You can find these from Russia to Turkey, where they are often called yurts. In Mongolia, they go by the name of Gers. You can recognise these specific mobile houses by the unique construction they are built in: with a round crown in the middle that supports the roof pooles.
In Europe, the Gers are becoming more and more popular with glampers, as they are very comfortable and cozy to stay in. In a Ger you can combine the experience of camping with a luxurious feeling.
This Ger is set up on an open field at the quiet campsite ’t Spoek in Beekbergen. This pittoresque village is located in the stunning natural park of the Veluwe in the Netherlands.The campsite lies directly at a forest that boasts of wildlife. Closeby are the cities of Apeldoorn and Arnhem, where you can enjoy delicious food in the many restaurants it has to offer.
Glamping description
The Ger sleeps two persons and is ideal for couples who want to go on a romantic getaway. It offers a comfortable double bed, with linen provided. It is also possible to come with more guests or to bring your kids with you, as there is a pull out sofa available.
There is a woodburning stove and a little gas heater where you can make coffee, tea or soup. Breakfast and towels are included in the price. The communal bathroom building with hot showers, is located at the campsite and just a few steps away.
