Glamping description
Lovely well-equipped chalet (30m2) for 2 people decorated in a contemporary style with double bed, living/dining room and kitchenette, shower room and verandah with table and chairs and a barbecue. The chalet is one of six and has a parking space and an outside area with sun chairs. Beautiful, peaceful setting by the riverside and situated just next to our 16th century watermill with shared heated pool. Biarritz is just half an hour away and Bayonne 25 minutes. In the heart of the countryside, just outside the village of La Bastide Clairence, voted one of the most beautiful villages in France. It is an artisan village with lots of craft workshops.
No traffic noise whatsoever and amazing wildlife such as griffon vultures, kingfishers, woodpeckers, wild deer, otter, red kites, herons, etc. We have a very friendly French Bulldog, Lili, 3 cats, 3 very friendly goats and four ducks! Our neighbours have donkeys and llamas. Beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and river and lovely walks nearby with views over the Pyrenees. A huge range of activities are available in the Basque region such as hiking, surfing, canoeing, skiing, Hawaiian pirogue, cycling, horse riding, white water rafting. For guests wishing to view sport, there are both Bayonne and Biarritz rugby teams, Basque pelota games and in our own village of La Bastide Clairence is the oldest Real Tennis court in the world (Jeu de Paume).
Bedding and towels are provided.
Please note : we can only accept bookings of a minimum of 1 week in July and August. Saturday to Saturday. The chalets are for two adults

We are 5 minutes out of La Bastide Clairence on the D123 in Quartier Pessarou. Arriving in Pessarou, follow signs for Chalets du Moulin
About the area
The chalets are situated next to our 16th century watermill on the river Arberoue in the heart of the beautiful Basque countryside. We are just a 5 minute drive from the village of La Bastide Clairence, voted one of the most beautiful villages in France. The chalets are half an hour from the stunning Basque coastline and from towns such as Biarritz, Bayonne, St. Jean de Luz. Many of our guests visit San Sebastian, Bilbao and Pamplona. There are also many beautiful Basque villages such as Sare, Espelette, Cambo les Bains, Ascain, Ainhoa. There is a huge choice of excellent restaurants and tapas bars in the area. We provide an information book with all our recommendations.
