Welcome to your stay

The perfect Safari tent for a big family or just for the two of you. With a living room, open kitchen, bathroom, and 3 bedrooms for 8 guests. The decking overlooks the green valley; search for the squirrels from your lounge sofa. Indoor and outdoor dining areas are available. The heated swimming pool is 500m away on the main terrain, as is the playground with a ping pong table, table football, and a lot of toys.

Surroundings

The surroundings make the glamping experience complete. Enjoy nature in this beautiful ecological valley with pear trees, apple trees, and grapevines. Nearby are Lisbon and Obidos, a nature park for hiking, and nearby beaches with a bay and a lagoon, and not to forget supertube surfing in Peniche.

Safaritent Casa Matsu, which means pine tree, is one of the 7 accommodations, all with maximum privacy divided over two terrains. The main terrain in the valley has 4 accommodations, 2 apartments, and two glamping tents. In the center, there is a heated swimming pool and a central multifunctional room, where you can find the honesty bar and tourist information. Additionally, there is a games room and an outside playground. Safari tent Casa Matsu, suitable for 8 guests, is situated on the upper terrain, 500m from the main terrain, together with a holiday home divided into 2 apartments. The owners live on the main terrain.

Safari tent Casa Matsu has 3 bedrooms, two with a double bed (160x200cm) and one with 2 bunk beds for 4 persons.

Location

We are is situated between the capital, Lisbon, and the university city, Coimbra, and is just 20 minutes from beautiful sandy beaches and a nature park.

Things to Do

There are a lot of things to see and do near the quinta. Caldas da Rainha is very close by, and you must see Obidos, the castle city, too. Museums and parks, for example, but also Praia Foz do Arelho, a beach close to the city. Peniche is for the supertubes surf lovers, and Nazare is for the big waves.

And there are more cities, all with well-known monuments that you should definitely visit: Alcobaça, which has a big monastery; Obidos, with a big and well-known castle; and Batalha, with a big cathedral. It can be very relaxing to just stroll around and enjoy the authentic character of an old Portuguese city.

If you don't mind driving a bit further, you can also add Coimbra and Lisbon to your list. Both cities have a lot of things to do: churches, museums, and various other types of monuments, including some of the Seven Wonders of Portugal and a lot of UNESCO World Heritage sites!

How to get there

Take the highway A8 to Caldas da Rainha. From here, you exit the highway, and it's only a 10-minute drive from there. A detailed description will be send by email after booking.

About the area

This glamping is located in the Costa de Prata region. This region is known for having a lot of beaches, and the quinta is also close to the coast, so be sure to visit those. But you won't notice that when you're having a good time on the quinta, as it is located in the peace and quiet of rural Portugal, where there is no fuzz and noise.

Multiple cities are close to the quinta. The city of Caldas da Rainha is the nearest, but also Alcobaca, Nazare, Fatima, Leiria, Lisbon and Coimbra are reachable by car. 

There is peace and quiet on the quinta, but there is also activity, it's up to you! The owners are ready to welcome you at !

    Had a great week!

    Nice place to do a lot in the area and beautiful beaches nearby. We especially liked Foz do Arelho a beautiful beach with both a calm bay and the wild waves of the Atlantic. Berlengatrip is also recommended, very beautiful. The children (8 and 11) also had a great time with the other children at the accommodation on the playing field and at the Ping Pong table. Thanks Michelle and Bert for the nice welcome and stay and the nice pizza evening! I think we'll be back sometime!

    Absolute top location!

    For the second year in a row stayed a week at Casa Matsu, on top of the hill. We can hardly imagine a nicer place to spend a quiet holiday! In the morning you are greeted enthusiastically by the squirrel-of-the-house and in the evening you doze in with the calling of the little owl. The facilities in the tent are formidable and owners Bert and Michelle are always willing to search for and find a suitable interpretation for any wish!
