Glamping summary
The Canvas Frills Lodge with hot tub, at De Lange Weide in the Netherlands, is one of the tents found at this farm that lies next to the beautiful 3500-acre Dwingelderveld National Park, one of the largest areas of heathland in Europe.
Any stay at De Lange Weide includes a tour of this working Dutch farm. The farm is part dairy, part arable and grows predominantly potatoes and corn. There is a herd of around 50 dairy cows that are milked twice a day. Guests can watch the milking, help feed the calves, and help with farm activities. Guests can also hire a tractor for a day to explore the nearby area.
Glamping description
The Canvas Frills Lodge has a wood-powered hot tub and has a double bed, a bunk bed, and a single bed, sleeping a maximum of five guests. There is a private gas-powered shower, a flushing toilet, deck chairs, an outdoor cooker, a hammock, an extended canopy for the wooden floored covered veranda, and cold running water. The lodge comes with a starter pack made up of wood for heating and cooking, starter pack candles, and lamp oil. Kitchen linen is provided, there is a BBQ provided, and there is ample parking space.
The farm is surrounded by the flat lands of Drenthe, an area of vast, silent spaces perfect for cycling. There is a small stream close by which can be used for canoeing or fishing. Another area of natural beauty, the Leggelerveld, with its famous blue lake for swimming in summer, is also just a short cycle ride away.
