Glamping summary
This tiny gem tucked away in Scotland is called North Camping in Galloway, a very unique glamping rural hideaway. It offers a comfortable pod accommodation which sleeps 2 people.
It is quiet and rural, the pod is sheltered amongst the trees with protection from the west and north wind. While this special wooden pod provides a safe haven for your precious belongings, you can venture into the local area to explore. This spot has its own campfire hearth. The owners can sell you kindling and firepit logs.
Disabled visitors are welcome and catered for in the ablution facilities and near the glamping facilities. There are 2 x 120mm steps into the pod.
We allow dogs in the pod, by prior arrangement.
One can fish, hike, do Pony Trekking, bird watching, swimming and rock pooling in and around the area and a local store in Leswalt village is just 2 miles away. You can take a ferry to Belfast for a day out.
The sky at night is very dark, and when there is no cloud, stars can be watched very well.
Glamping description
One of glampings best kept secrets lies in south west, Scotland, called North Campsite, nestled in farmland and surrounded by fields, greenery and woodland trees. This small rural exclusive glamping site is a must for anyone who loves the Scottish lowland countryside. Just 6 miles north-west of Stranraer and 2 miles from the local Village store in Leswalt.
Your unique and exclusive camping pod (which houses two single beds or a large king size bed when pushed together) represents glamping at its best. All you need to provide is your own bedding and cooking stove. The pod offers electric light and electrical socket connections, a small heater (although the pod is well insulated for year round use), a kettle with tea and coffee facilities including mugs, crockery, cutlery, pots and pans, even a Free-Sat TV for long winters nights.
Garden furniture and a picnic table is provided for sitting outside near the stone cooking platform (no cooking inside the pod or decking at any time). You are tucked away out of site from the road. The pod is approx 50 metres from the toilets, and shower building.
Ablution facilities have toilets, ensuite wash basins, and a large level access shower, as well as a sink for washing up, all with hot water. A small shelter is provided in case of rain. Hot water and showers are free. All taps have drinking water.
Your car is parked close to the pod. Our site is dog friendly but must be pre-arranged.
The owners have gone out of their way to ensure the comfort and ease of use at these facilities for disabled glampers.
Disabled people booking tent and campervan pitches are positioned close to facilities, provided they state their needs when booking.

Glamping owner
North
Rob and Kath started this small camping site in 2012, mainly accommodating 10 tents, with 3 spaces for small campervans. We added the camping pod in 2015.
We have camped for more than 40 years ourselves, always in tents.
We moved to the North area in 2010 after a camping holiday here, and finding that most camping sites in the area have gone over to static caravans.
