THINGS TO DO

Our unique, 1-hectare glamping on the river bank is surrounded by lots of green and mountains. The village of Arganil is only a short distance away, you can enjoy peace and also be active.

All the facilities in the garden are available to everyone. Down in the garden we have the swimming pool with jets, the sun beds and the cozy bar. "Upstairs" we have various seats in the sun or shade, a large outdoor kitchen with (pizza) oven, a wood-fired BBQ and one for gas for a quick pull.

But also in the immediate surroundings is a lot to see and do. There are various quintas around, perfect locations to have a great meal or enjoy a nice drink in the sun.

On short distance you will find a few of the most wonderful villages, such as Piódão: awarded as the most wonderful village in 2017.

Furthermore you can go on a wine excursion, visit local markets and the mesmerizing Monte Alto, go for a Stand Up Paddling course and do a course 'Portuguese cooking'.

On our glamping we offer:

  • Massages
  • Yoga class
  • Pilates lesson
  • Stand-Up Paddling
  • Walking routes (also with guidance)
  • Mountain bike trail
  • Swimming in the river or the pool
  • Trail run routes

This glamping is also close to Coimbra, the 2003 cultural capital of Europe. Here you can visit the old university and both the old and the new cathedral. There are also a lot of monuments, like monasteries and museum - really a lot to do!

How to get there

You can reach this glamping from Lissabon or Porto Airport in about two hours. You can take the train and a bus, which will take you to a bus stop close to the glamping. The glamping owners are happy to pick you up from there.

About the area

This glamping is located on the bank of the Alva river, one of the cleanest rivers in Portugal. Be sure to go Stand Up Paddling or canoeing on this river at least once, it's all possible here.

But it's not only watersports. Go hiking or mountain biking and see multiple places in the near region.

There's are enough special things to see a bit further away from the quinta. The Fraga da Pena, where the water falls down from 70 meters, the Roman excavations of Conimbriga or the National park do Bussaco are all within an hours reach.

Fantastic and would do it again

Sabine and Jose, thanks for the nice and beautiful week. What a beautiful location on the Rio Alva. A great base for visiting nice villages and towns in the area. A beautiful nature for a bike ride. Also really enjoyed your sometimes authentic Portuguese meals.

    Excellent!

Everything was 5 stars! It’s cosy, modern, very comfortable, inserted in a marvelous natural surrounding location with Rio Alva as a backyard. There are trails for hiking nearby and the quinta provides the opportunity to engage in Stand Up Paddle along the river! I did it on the first day of the year and even in winter, it’s a must do experience as long as you have a sunny day on your side. Breakfast was amazing, quite complete and delicious. Cherry on top of the cake.. the sympathy and care of Sabine, the best host experience one can have. I highly recommend this place.. the perfect cityscape gateway any time of the year.
