The Canvas Frills Lodge with Hot Tub, at Hoeve De Pippert is one of the tents that are located on this working farm, in the Gelderland area of the Netherlands. The farm is located directly opposite Ophemert Castle, and the farm dates back to the 16th century whilst the farm buildings date back to 1845.
Any stay at Hoeve De Pippert includes a tour of this working dairy farm that uses the latest and most modern farming methods. The owners, the Kranendonk family, focus on traditional farming values alongside modern techniques and have 140 hectares of land, with 180 cows and around 130 calves. The cows are milked using fully automated Dutch machines. Children can help look after the calves and they can also help to collect the fresh eggs from the chickens. There is a large group tent available for cosy campfires and group activities.
The Canvas Frills Lodge has a wood-powered hot tub and has a double bed, a bunk bed, and a single bed, sleeping a maximum of five guests. There is a private gas-powered shower, a flushing toilet, deck chairs, an outdoor cooker, a hammock, an extended canopy for the wooden floored covered veranda, and cold running water. The lodge comes with a starter pack made up of wood for heating and cooking, starter pack candles, and lamp oil. Kitchen linen is provided, there is a BBQ provided, and there is ample parking space.
The farm lies in the Betuwe district, Holland’s largest fruit producing area. There are many lanes and footpaths near the castle that guests can explore. The neighbouring area of Mariabos is a large area of woodland that is an excellent place for children to play and a perfect den building spot. The Waal River nature reserve is also a short walk from the farm and it provides excellent walking and water activities.
