Glamping summary
The Canvas Lodge at Hoeve Meijer is one of the tents that are located on this working farm on the edge of the Veluwe forest in the Netherlands. This forest is part of the Hoge Veluwe National Park and the tents have some very stunning views as a result. The national park is made up of woodlands, moorlands, and sand dunes and making this farm a fantastic place for a glamping holiday.
The original farmhouse was built in 1910 and is still in great condition. Any stay at Hoeve Meijer includes a tour of this working traditional Dutch dairy farm. The farm is operated in much the same way, as it would have been 50 years ago, with few large machines. From the tent, there are stunning views of the farmland and the forests which are filled with songbirds in the summer months. There are cornfields as well that grow to 2 metres high and guests can see deer and other animals seeking refuge in these fields.
