THINGS TO DO

There are a lot of things to do on the quinta and in the region. There's a swimming pool on the glamping terrain, and in the nearby region, you can go fishing, hiking, cycling or pedal boating. Enough activity in case you feel like staying close to the quinta for a day. 

In case you want to see some culture, Viseu is definitely a great option. Churches, museums and parks - it's all there. And there's more: go cycling on a former train track that leads to the city or stroll around in a big shopping centre. 

Sports, leisure, culture, relaxation and last but not least, partying is also possible. There's a big artificial beach close to this glamping with a lot of live performances. Or go to Viseu, where you can find multiple discos. In short: plenty of things to do!

How to get there

The closest airport is Porto Airport. This airport is a bit less than 2 hours away by car or bus. Lissabon Airport is about 3 hours away from the quinta, both by car and train. For 10 euros, you can be picked up from the railway station.

About the area

The area around this glamping is perfect for mountain biking. There are four bikes that you can use for free available. Go on a ride with the owner, or have a moment for yourself and enjoy nature with your own eyes. 

You might be here for the calm and tranquil, but that doesn't have to stop you from having a party. In the small town of Mangualde you'll find Praia LiveBeach, the biggest artificial beach of Europe. There's music and live performances everyday from 19:00 until the late hours. Also in the villages nearby, you can find typical Portugese parties and see some culture as well.

But if you go a little bit further, you'll find Viseu, a big and old city with a lot of things worth seeing and doing. For example the Viseu Cathedral, the most important historical monument in the city. It was built in the 12th century. Although the church is not that big, it's still worth visiting. If you visit on Sunday morning, you can even take part in the Sunday mess. 

But there's more in Viseu. See some art in the Museu Grão Vasco; an arts museum which is devoted to Vasco Fernandes, one of the most important painters in Portugese history. Have you seen enough culture? Palacio do Gelo is a big shopping centre that is perfect to just stroll around for an easy afternoon.

If you're into cycling, the Ecopista do Dão is definitely worth doing. This former train track is now the longest ecopista in Portugal and offers a 49 kilometer cycling route between Santa Comba Dão and Viseu. It goes through mountains, but it's still quite an easy to cycle route without steep slopes. 

Activity, culture and relaxing - you'll find it all in this area. Definitely worth a visit!
