Glamping description
Our gorgeous yurts offer total respite from everyday life and will charm you with an ambience of exotic wonder.
Complete with extras such as your own veranda and well equipped kitchen area, we like to give a little extra wherever we can so that you can be sure of that unique holiday experience.
Each yurt has it´s own private eco-toilet and shower facilities, all designed and constructed to give that essential connection to the lush vegetation outside and even more opportunities to spot some of the wonderful birds and butterflies that inhabit our valley.
We are pretty exclusive, too, as we have only two yurts sharing a large terrace and garden which means plenty of privacy and space to be yourselves, as well as a trampoline and childrens play house to keep the little ones content.
Every part of the way we always consider the impact on the local wildlife and disturb as little as possible of our surroundings, very, very little concrete but much locally milled wood – raising all buildings off from the ground leaving as much untouched as we can to let mother nature to do her own thing!
The gardens have many mature fruit and nut trees and are surrounded by the cooling shade of oaks and chestnuts on the terraces below, and are home to many species of wild and planted herbs and flowering shrubs, which only add to the attraction to those all important pollinators that frequently visit on their daily rounds – from the humming bird-like hawk moth to many varieties of bees and butterflies including swallow tails, long tailed blues, fritillaries and Cleopatras amongst others.
Deer, wild boar, mongoose, red squirrels and pine-martens are the mammals most spotted and to hear the call of the deer during the still of night will leave you with a real sense of life in the wild!
Add to that the Schriebers, spiny footed and oscillated lizards, preying mantis, red and blue emperor dragonfly, eagles, kites, owls, and even the occasional hoopoe bird, we are sure that you will agree that there is plenty to watch out for!

We started the Green Man with the simple plan of offering a total escape from the workplace and pressures of everyday life.
Having been very lucky to travel to some beautiful parts of the world, we realized that the places that we stayed could make such a difference to our traveling experience. Trying to recreate a similar ambience to those wonderful places my Portuguese partner and I moved from the UK so that she could follow her profession and I was presented with the opportunity
to do something that I had wanted to do for some time, to develop lodgings of simplicity, style and comfort which offer a total immersion into the nature of our woodland surroundings,
because we know all to well the benefits such a simple action can have on ones mental and physical well being!
