Glamping summary
The Canvas Frills Lodge with hot tub, at Het Wesselink, is one of the tents tucked away in a forgotten corner of the Netherlands in the beautiful scenic landscape of the Salland. The farm has a 400-year-old thatched farmhouse that is mentioned in a well-known ancient Dutch text describing the area.
Any stay at Het Wesselink includes a tour of this working Dutch farm. Het Wesselink is a mixed farm with 40 hectares of land of which 20 are pasture supporting 60 dairy cows. Sugar beet, corn, and potatoes are grown on the remaining land. Children can help with the calves or look for fresh eggs. They can also build huts or just enjoy running around the beautiful countryside.
Glamping description
The Canvas Frills Lodge has a wood-powered hot tub and has a double bed, a bunk bed, and a single bed, sleeping a maximum of five guests. There is a private gas-powered shower, a flushing toilet, deck chairs, an outdoor cooker, a hammock, an extended canopy for the wooden floored covered veranda, and cold running water. The lodge comes with a starter pack made up of wood for heating and cooking, starter pack candles, and lamp oil. Kitchen linen is provided, there is a BBQ provided, and there is ample parking space.
The farm is situated between the towns of Raalte and Deventer, the Sallandse Heuvelrug national park is close by, as is the Overijssel canal. This is a peaceful and beautiful landscape where time seems to stand still. The farms in the area are easily recognisable by their colourful green, yellow, and red shutters.
