Welcome to your stay

If you spend weeks after weeks of monotonous life in the city and are craving for serenity, a stay at the Moonslade yurt in Somerset is the experience you are looking for. The yurt is one of the four 19 foot wide yurts at the Somerset glamping site of 'Somerset yurts'.

The farm was originally a three hundred acre dairy farm with over a hundred and twenty cows run by husband and wife team Emma and Mark Cavill who had lived 10 years of corporate lifestyle and decided to have some time away from the hassle moving to Marks family farm where they built 'Somerset yurts'. The family is very helpful and even guide you through a tour around the fields.

On the edge of the compound border lie Quantock Hills, Hestercombe Gardens and Fyne Court where one can either drive or trek to connect with nature while exploring the green picture perfect landscapes. You could also take a nostalgic ride back in time with the west Somerset railway.

Explore your stay

A shade of blue matching the sky, the Moonslade yurt is designed to calm and relax the guests who stay in it. Located in Somerset, not far from the moonslade fields (after which it is named), an experience in this yurt is what one wants after the hustle and bustle of a daily monotonous city life.

The yurt is a perfect place for those who love to travel while also experiencing the joy of camping in serenity. Moonslade is one of the four 19 foot wide Mongolian styled yurts this campsite Somerset Yurts has to offer. Each yurt comes equipped with a double bed and a double futon for relaxing, and for the winter when it gets chilly one could use the indoor log burner for heat.

A little walk away from the yurt lies the Dutch barn that comes with a fully equipped kitchen, dining area and the camp shower's.

    Magical outdoorsy experience

We stayed for a full week in August, two adults and two children. The site and yurts were everything we dreamed they would be, and much more besides and staying there encouraged us to try things we never had before: Smores on an open fire; cooking our own casserole in a Dutch Oven over the campfire; bat-spotting; cow dodging and much more! Power showers in the shared barn facilities area mean that intrepid explorers still feel clean, plus plenty of different cooking arrangements for all weathers (we did have all weathers in our week!). Amazing views all around and Emma and Mark are very friendly and are on call for any questions via text or call, signal allowing, and their knowledge of things to do in the local area took a few of our days up. Highly recommend and hope we get to go back one day.
