Glamping summary
The Canvas Frills Lodge tent at Dinserhof farm is one of the tents found at this beautifully tranquil spot just 3 miles from the Baltic Coast. The farm is a smallholding run by the Dinse family who came here 20 years ago to live their dream of a self-sufficient lifestyle.
Looking out from your tent you have a lovely view over a picturesque pond and rolling fields with grazing Scottish Highlanders against a backdrop of a 19th century Schloss. There is a wide variety of animals and guests are can help to feed and groom them. In the adjacent field, there are horses that share the charming original stables with the rare breed pigs. Unfortunately, due to the variety of farm animals, pets are not allowed.
Food is grown in the extensive vegetable garden behind the tents, and there are free-range chickens and ducks. Guests can harvest the vegetables seasonally and there is a small honesty shop where guests can buy meat home grown on the farm and other local produce. Other items can also be ordered or purchased at the local shops.
Autumn is the mating season and the busiest time of the year; 5 months after which, the lambs are born. There is always some way in which guests can join in with the farmyard activities including helping to bottle-feed the lambs. Whatever the season, visitors on their family holidays meet the animals in the meadows and find out about sheep that are rarely seen these days.
