The Retreat Lodge with hot tub at Wyresdale Park is one of the tents that are located on this country estate in Lancashire. Looking remarkably like the original setting for Swallows and Amazons, guests will love the boating on offer at the lake, paddling, swimming, and fishing and the peaceful glamping in the sheltered woods of the Park grounds.
The tents are set looking out to Wyresdale Lake, which has boating jetties ready for boat trips. In July and August, guests can book fishing day trips. There is a wood burning stove for cooking within the tent area. The Park has many hidden coves for hammocks and campfires and lots of wild fell to explore.
For kids, there are fold out camp beds, tables, chairs, games, and a rope swing. And just 1.5 km away, Old Holly Farm is an excellent petting zoo, play barn, and working farm. The estate is also positioned as the gateway to the undiscovered beauty of The Forest of Bowland, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Whilst there is no shop located on the grounds, there are many local shops nearby. Up to two dogs per tent are allowed on the grounds.
The Retreat Lodge has a wood-powered outdoor hot tub and a private gas-powered shower. It has a double bed, a bunk bed, and a single bed, sleeping a maximum of six guests. There is a hammock, a flushing toilet, deck chairs, an outdoor cooker, an extended canopy for the covered veranda, and cold running water. The lodge comes with a starter pack made up of wood for heating and cooking, starter pack candles, and lamp oil. Kitchen linen is provided and there is ample parking space.
At the Hall, you will find the locally renowned Walled Garden Café, serving quintessential creams teas, light lunches, and hearty English breakfasts. The surrounding gardens feature lawns for croquet and football, tall trees for climbing, and house tours can be arranged. Wyresdale Park is also a springboard to the world-renowned Lake District, Windermere a forty-five-minute drive away.
