Glamping summary
The Canvas Frills Lodge at Gambledown Farm is one of the tents that are located on this working farm just five miles from the New Forest National Park within the county of Wiltshire. The farm dates back to 1875 and is a mixed 270-acre plot home to shorthorn beef cattle that calve in April. There are open views on the farm, providing spectacular views of Hampshire Downs to the east and Wiltshire plains to the west.
The farm also has lambs in the spring and guests can feed the orphan lambs by bottle. The tents sit at the top of the farm, and so have some of the best views on the farm. The farm is peaceful, quiet, and located on a private road. There are plenty of fields, woodland, and a living willow tunnel for children to explore. There is also a children's play area and a large covered space for rainy days.
There is a kid's tractor ride, a giant chalkboard, swings, ping pong, and swing ball. There is also a new football and rugby field. Guests can visit the horses, pigs, rabbits, and guinea pigs and there are usually more than 30 new calves. There is a wood fire over for pizza making and guests can buy home-grown beef. Any stay includes a tour of this working farm.
